"What we learned about Israel is that they are a country with no allies constantly under fire by Palestinians. The IDF was bound by a supreme moral compass, which explained why the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was so difficult to solve because Palestinians were not operating from a place of morality (“conflict” is the only appropriate word, “occupation” was basically considered anti-semitic propaganda). These ideas were commonplace throughout my middle and high school education. The larger message was that Israel is a victim and has always been a victim, too fragile and innocent to be critiqued." -Solomon Schechter Westchester alumni
